Individual Therapy
What it is
Individual therapy is one-on-one work between you and me, focused on what's happening in your life right now and what you want to change. Sessions stay private, move at your pace, and center on your goals rather than a fixed program. I work with both teens and adults, and I specialize in supporting neurodivergent clients navigating a world that wasn't built with their brains in mind.
When to consider it
You don't need a crisis to start therapy. People come to individual therapy when they're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves; when old patterns keep repeating no matter how hard they try to change them; when a life transition has thrown off their footing; or when they suspect their brain works differently than the advice they've been given assumes. If you're asking whether therapy could help, that question alone is usually reason enough to explore it.

My approach
I lead with Internal Family Systems (IFS) and narrative therapy, because understanding how your mind built its current patterns comes before trying to change them. From there, I bring in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for practical, usable skills, along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), neuroscience-informed methods, and neurofeedback when they fit what you need. If you're neurodivergent, know this: your brain isn't running the wrong OS — it just needs better scripts, and that's the work we'll do together.
What to expect: your first session
Your intake session covers a few things: any paperwork not finished beforehand, a history of what's brought you in, an honest look at your current circumstances, and initial goals for the work ahead. We'll also cover logistics and leave time for whatever questions you have. Nothing about this session is a test. It's the foundation for everything after it.
What to expect: ongoing sessions
Sessions run fifty minutes, usually weekly or every other week, depending on what fits your life and your goals. Ongoing sessions include check-ins on how things are going, skill development, processing memories and emotions as they come up, and exploring the patterns that shape your life. I offer both in-person and telehealth options, so you can choose what works for you.
